Split Boards

We are making our splitboards in our Whale and Dominion series boards.  The construction and rocker design is the same as the solid versions of the boards.  The splits have sintered p-tex sidewalls, our full-length Aspen and Maple Wood Cores, and Rockwell 48 steel edges in the center of the board.

The Whale Split:
“By adding another 12mm of rocker rise to the nose, Unity gets much more float out of this year’s Whale, which debuted to strong reviews last season.  Additionally it has more torsional flex than last years, which makes it easier to turn and more responsive, our testers found.  With camber from the front foot back, the Whale had more hard-snow traction than testers expected of a powder board.  But it shined in untracked snow, earning top rankings for turnability in the glades and overall powder performance.”

Technology

The splits will be available with the standard Voile insert pattern and will have the tip clips and hooks installed.  You will need to have the Voile Universal Splitboard Interface to mount your bindings to the board.  We also recommend the Spark R&D Splitboard binding to really get the most out of your splitboarding experience.
